Spring Break

Well, it's July 3, one month into our summer.  I'm finally getting around to looking at our spring break pictures.  Wondering what the point of having a blog, when I'm too busy to update it!!!  Needless to say, here are a couple of pics from four months ago!!!  

Victoria is 7!

Here we are about a week after her 7th birthday.  Pretty exciting to have a 7 year old daughter.  She's pretty sassy... and absolutely wonderful.  I love her spirit, her silliness, and her admiration of all things girlie.  Here's a look back at her:

2 days cooking. Lots of lasagna, chicken piccata, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, breakfast... So delish, yet my kitchen looks like a bomb went off. It takes a long time to cook lovely meals, but the recipients are beyond worth it. I only wish I were a teeny bit faster! Joann's memorial was today. I found myself beyond grumpy, knowing I'd have to get three kids ready and drive in blizzard conditions to attend. And the thought of what to wear...grrr. I was humbled by the beautiful songs, verses, and memories talked about. Life is short. I need to stop taking some things for granted. I will start with my husband's tolerance of my cold feet on him right now....and a heater, since there is 18" of snow on the ground.

God is good. And that's a fact.

I wanted to share this little story, mostly because I don't want to forget this moment. God is so good. We went with Luke's Sunday School class to sing hymns and quickly minister to the Ebels. Joann is dying of cancer, and while we've prayed for more than 2 years for God to heal her, He has other plans for her. The radiance on this woman's thin face was astounding. She is ready to meet Jesus. Her confidence and her husband's confidence in the Lord left us all in stunning amazement. It was truly the ultimate picture of God's perfect grace. We were all in tears, singing, and here is Joann, barely able to move, singing them right along with us. Not a tear was shed from this woman. We went to love and minister to her and she blessed us all more than could have been imagined.
